Frequently Asked Questions
No, OliveRunning does not take insurance because I provide a concierge version of physical therapy, and unfortunately at this time, insurance will not directly pay for the benefits I provide (such as daily communication with clients, multiple personalized workouts per week and run coaching.
OliveRunning services will soon be HSA/FSA eligible. I am also more than happy to provide a superbill for your insurance to potentially get reimbursed!
Like a concierge physician, if you become an OliveRunning athlete, you get access to me via text and email every day of the week.
Online programming allows me to give you a more comprehensive plan to fit your needs, with 3 personalized workouts and cardio training per week, and the ability to communicate with me every day. It gives me the ability to track your progress, unlike traditional physical therapy, which includes no communication between sessions.
Virtual rehab also allows you to choose when you workout, so it's most convenient for you, and has no arbitrary time limits. Instead of the standard hour-long PT session, you can ask me to tailor the lengths of your workouts to fit your unique schedule - whether you can only do 5 minutes a day or you want to do an hour and half 3 times per week.
It is extremely individual!
Some folks see me for 4-6 visits in-person, and then are confident to be on a plan for maintenance.
Some see me virtually for a few months to return to sport.
Some people see me indefinitely for training. It all depends on what you're dealing with, what your goals are and what YOU want.
No. If you are seeing me in person at my location within Martin Athletic Training (Stuart, FL) you can see me without a prescription for physical therapy for 30 days. Very often clients get better within that 30 days and may switch to injury prevention/maintenance training, which does not require a prescription.
Running rehab/coaching for folks with a history of injury does not require a prescription at all.
Our first meeting is either in-person or virtual, and we will allot 90 minutes for it, with a follow-up a few days later if I need more time with you!
Prior to meeting, I will ask you for a lot of information that will direct our evaluation and what specific tests and measures I'll be looking for. I will conduct a movement screen to identify any strength or range of motion deficits you may be demonstrating.
We will go over factors like your nutrition, current training schedule and recovery methods.
You'll leave the appointment with improved confidence and a clear plan to tackle your injury.
